Progress with Paediatrician Appointments in South Glos

We have been feeding back the views on appointment difficulties at every opportunity we get!

It is not an uncommon story in our community to hear of the challenges we face relating to paediatricians appointments, and so at every opportunity at health meetings we have been feeding this back, time and time again.

Sirona who have met with us and have been in attendance at health meetings and forums we have been representing you and our community at and have been taking note of what we had to say on your behalf. April 23rd saw the launch of the new Centralised Booking System with a single dedicated number for parents and carers to call (0300 125 6666). On this number parents can make enquiries, find out about waiting lists, appointments and cancellations.

Jenny Theed, Director of Nursing and Operations, said: “We have really listened to what parents and carers have had to say about appointments with paediatricians and the need for a dedicated number to ensure the service is joined up so I’m really pleased we are able to launch the new Centralised Booking Team.

“We will continue to listen to those using the service and use that feedback to further learn and improve our systems.”

We were excited to hear this and hope it will achieve what it sets out to do, we were so excited one of the team here in the office at South Glos PC HQ tested this new service to find out about the wait they can expect for thier child’s referral made in February 2019. We can confirm, they got through to a human straight away and their enquiry was dealt with really promptly. So far so good but do keep us informed about how this new service works for you and your familiy, as always we want to ensure that services are improving and buidling upon what works well and are always ready to make your voices heard!
